Sui Generis: The Intangibles | Sui Generis

You are right when you say that schools don't really assess your intangible assets. Their main priority is deciding who has memorized everything that they have been told is true. As it turns out the only reason this is valuable in the real world is if you want to achieve the same things as every one else. If you strive for something different there is no substitute for creativity and independent thinking.

    Thanks

Glad to see you picked this book up Derrick - it's a good one. You will probably also like "Made to Stick" (if you haven't already read it).

Peter: Yeah, I'm thinking of checking out "Made to Stick". Haven't read it yet, but heard good things about it, and it sounds really interesting. I've got a lot of books I want to read, though, so not sure when I'll get to that.

Tom: Yeah, and that's one of the failures of the formal education system, in my opinion.
